My Weekend

Mahayana I. Dugast, from Cork, is the author of Anti-Ageing Secrets, The Complete Self-Rejuvenation Manual for Conscious Men & Women.

Name: Mahayana Isabelle Dugast.

Age: 42.

Lives: Cork 15 years, originally from Chamonix Mont-Blanc, south-east France.

Describe your normal weekend: Friday night, my three teenage boys and I clean the house, so it is nice and fresh for the weekend. Saturday morning, I walk the line, starting by Blackrock castle, finishing by the Marina. I have a coffee on the terrace if it is sunny, and go home to do some yoga/meditation. After a light lunch, I do some writing. In the evening, I like to have diner with one or two friends, beginning with an aperitif: a glass of Bordeaux and some olives. Sunday, the same thing goes, except that dinner with friends is replaced by laundry, ironing school suits and grocery shopping!

Who would you spend most of your weekend with? Myself, as this is the only free time I have, which is necessary to recharge my batteries. Of course, if George Clooney was around, this would change!

What is your favourite part of the weekend and why? Early morning, at sunrise: a great time for reflection and inspiration.

If you were to go out for the day at the weekend, where would you go to? Rocky Bay in Kinsale, with sandwiches, a hot flask of tea and the windbreaker, it’s always great!

If you were to go away from Ireland for the weekend, where would you go to? I was in Paris with Sudesh, one of my sons, we played tourists and had a fantastic time!

What is your favourite weekend meal? At the moment, as a detox meal, it’s tofu marinated in turmeric, served with millet and Goji berries. In the winter it’s a roast chicken with all the trimmings, and chocolate cake to finish!

What is your favourite weekend TV? The Oprah Winfrey Show, Colombo if it’s on, and Sex in the City!

How do you relax? By bringing myself into the present moment.

Would you be a regular churchgoer? No, I pray and meditate from home or anywhere I might be when I feel the need to.
