The information shared here covers the full spectrum of anti-ageing tips and rejuvenating treatments; both natural and cosmetic, for men and women of all ages. You are a multi-levelled being so this manual includes practices for your body, your mind, your emotions, and of course your spirit. Any less would simply be limiting you and take from your potential, which is infinite.

Why would you want to read this book?

And what could you possibly read here that you haven’t already read somewhere else? Quite a lot; there is plenty of misleading information when it comes to anti-ageing products and ways to improve your looks. It is very big business nowadays. The people you usually ask for advice are those who are potentially selling you some kind of product or procedure, so their advice is often biased. If it sounds too easy or too good to be true, it probably is! Unfortunately, a lot of cosmetic products don’t deliver on their promises, so you can often waste time, money and find that your problem is still there… and growing! Added to this, methods that are free are not usually revealed as there is no profit to be made from them, which is why I call them ‘Secrets’. You will find them all included here. My intention in writing this book is to inform you as best I can on the whole spectrum of anti-ageing related issues. While you may choose to explore certain routes and not others, you will find support in the form of tips and advice as well as resources available, should you wish to delve deeper into any of the topics discussed. The hope I have for you is that your decisions will be made in the light of knowledge, with increased awareness.

I have been lecturing on well-being and its related issues for fifteen years, and my teachings are based on twenty years of relentless research and practice from a very colourful background, with the aim of developing a more graceful way of life and ultimately accessing personal freedom. I love the fact that I can be uncompromisingly honest as I am not ‘selling’ you anything, except this book of course! I must say that I prefer to share information via workshops as it is a more lively format, this may be why you feel that I am with you while you read ‘Anti-Ageing Secrets’.

A stress-free life

Life can be easy and choosing health and beauty should not be a source of stress, pressure or guilt, as it often is. We all know that modern living provides us with plenty of these as it is! If you are one of those people who is always trying to do everything perfectly, NOW might be a good time to take a liberating breath and let it all go. Why not start enjoying life and having a bit more fun, and yes, probably messing things up at times! I am a great believer in bringing moderation and awareness into everything we do. If you don’t like some of the tips offered here, please do not try and convince yourself otherwise, your instinct is your guiding light: listen to it! If, on the other hand, you choose to change a few things in your life, do it in your own time and have fun getting to know yourself further. You will be amazed and delighted at how good you look and feel. Good results always show so don’t be surprised if your friends and family ask to know your Secrets!

You will also find a few practical tips and exercises on how to stay or become aware throughout your daily life: the ultimate remedy to stress. Stress is one of the most ageing factors, so imagine being able to use a safety rope’ (1) to pull yourself out of trouble. Not only do you start to enjoy life for what it is, but you also benefit from major rejuvenation…guaranteed! Respecting your own body and living consciously naturally promotes living a beautiful life, on all levels. You will find that a lot of what is explored in this manual is based on simplicity, originating from ancient wisdom.

Your contribution to yourself

What are your thoughts on ageing? Do you still go on the assumption of what you have heard until now, which is probably something like: ‘There is nothing I can do about it, it is going to happen anyway’. This much is obvious; however you do have a choice on how you move through life and the quality of your existence. In order to appreciate the value of some of the ‘Secrets’ enclosed in this manual, we will explore two of the main factors that contribute to the quality of your health and beauty: the biological ageing process and the power that your mind has on you via your thoughts and conditioning.

Another well-known myth is that ‘good’ or ‘bad’ genes are hereditary; you might be surprised to know that this accounts for less than 25% of your overall health, the rest is up to you. So how about taking responsibility for your health, your life and ultimately your destiny?

From life insurance to prevention

Most of you have life insurance. While this may give you a sense of security; the nature of any kind of insurance preys on the possibility that things will go wrong. When they do go wrong, and the list is long, you can cash in on the policy… not much good when you don’t have your health! While I am not suggesting for a second that you should not insure yourself and your health, I propose that you develop an ability to use preventative awareness. Most accidents and illnesses come disguised into your life as wake-up calls (ranging from mild to very serious); they materialise to warn you that you are not taking good care of yourself, and/or that you need to be more present. Wake-up calls also happen to conscious people, as there is always room for more alertness. The tips you will find enclosed in this manual will help you to maintain, or acquire greater health: physically, emotionally and mentally. I am suggesting that prevention is the best kind of personal insurance you will ever have; this is what I call preventative awareness. When you live an aware life, you are far more receptive and therefore able to detect early symptoms of disease if any; you are able to respect yourself in a way that is conducive to your own health and prosperity, and live a more peaceful and productive life altogether.

Understanding the ageing process

Every second, thousands of new cells are formed as they replicate after splitting from the original one. As the years go by, the new cells produced are a fraction less complete than the original and, little by little, ageing begins. The state and health of your cells is determined by what you put into your body, how and what you breathe, but most importantly, what your thoughts are. We are just beginning to understand the magnitude of the impact that thought-form has on our mental, emotional and physical health; and ultimately how we co-create our reality. We will explore these possibilities a little later, throughout the first two chapters.
